The Closer

Our Bat Packs are legendary and one of the cornerstones of our business model. (Why buy just one bat when you can buy more for major savings?) You might say they’re our secret sauce — and the recipe was cooked up in collaboration with Bill, one of our longest-tenured sales representatives. He sold us our first round of closeouts, helping us pass along prices that blew our customers’ minds. We learned a lot about negotiating watching him close those Friday night deals. And we learned a lot about fun at our annual MLB All-Star outings, strengthening friendships on the front row of the Home Run Derby. By taking a chance on us, Bill helped us trust our instincts and build our brand. He was always the life of the party, but Bill taught us that no matter how hard you partied, you always had to “answer the bell” for those who needed you. Lessons like this and several more are why Bill was a mentor to so many of us.
