The Straight Shooter

A business like ours isn’t a 9-to-5 venture. Our people work very hard — but we play hard too. And no person exemplifies that balance better than Norm. It’s unusual to have the same representative for more than 25 years, but Norm is a special case. His love for the game oozes from his pores; the guy was once even Johnny Bench’s roommate. He shot straight. He shared war stories. He was our baseball education. He showed us what a vendor relationship should look like — a mutually beneficial two-way street based on genuine affection. It’s because of Norm that our vendors are treated like employees instead of outsiders, that they stay in our houses instead of anonymous hotels.
